First Winter Olympics: |
The first Winter Olympics started in 1924 and were held in the exact same year as the Summer Olympics. The year is significant because it was always a leap year, divisible by four. It changed in 1992 when the IOC decided that it made more sense for each Olympics to be four years. Making it so that that an Olympics always happens every two years! However, the First Winter Olympics was significant itself because it was the First Winter Olympics.
