Dancing had evolved and had been staged up to a new level. The biggest dance during the 20s had sparked everyone’s life. It was "The Charleston Dance", it became popular due to the song “The Charleston” which was produced by James P. Johnson. This new dance was a hit in its first appearance which was in the 1923 Broadway “Running Wild”. Its music companion was Ragtime Jazz, but for the dance it can be danced alone, with a partner, or with a group. Although there were a few assumptions that the dance originated from the Ashanti people in Africa, the makers of this dance were traced back off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina. Nevertheless this dance continued to go on in the 20s and soon died off in the 30s, but it remains a piece of history till date.
